What happened
The International Organization for Migration’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has issued its latest quarterly overview of mixed migration flows to Europe for April–June 2026. The report, which builds on a system launched in 2015, compiles validated data on arrivals by sea and land across the four main routes: the Eastern Mediterranean (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece), Central Mediterranean (Italy, Malta), Western Mediterranean (Spanish peninsular coasts, Balearic Islands, Ceuta, Melilla), and the Western African Atlantic (Canary Islands).
It also tracks transit through the Western Balkan route and land entries into Croatia, Romania and Slovenia.
The overview compares Q2 2026 figures with the same period in 2025 and with Q1 2026, providing a clear trend analysis for policymakers and humanitarian actors.
