UN Day for South-South Cooperation 2026: African Countries Leverage Regional Solutions for Food Security

On the occasion of the UN Day for South-South Cooperation 2026, the Regional Centre of Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition highlighted how African countries transform their national experiences into regional solutions for food security and nutrition. The Centre showcased examples from Zambia, Côte d'Ivoire, and Benin, demonstrating how knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer learning, and technical cooperation enable countries to adapt proven approaches to their unique realities. The Centre's role in identifying, documenting, and disseminating best practices, as well as promoting South-South and triangular cooperation in Africa, was also emphasized. The article stressed that strengthening solidarity and knowledge exchange is crucial for accelerating sustainable development and building more resilient food systems on the continent.
