EU Grants New Funding to Strengthen Cash‑Based Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings

The European Union Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) has announced a new investment to expand the Global Protection Cluster’s Cash for Protection Task Team (TTC4P), led by Save the Children. The funding will help transform cash assistance into concrete protection outcomes for children in crisis zones. TTC4P already supports more than 200 organisations worldwide, delivering training and technical guidance to practitioners. Recent workshops in Ukraine, Myanmar and Sudan brought together 120 professionals to enhance their capacity to integrate Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) into protection programmes. The initiative also released a two‑part video that explains how cash can mitigate risks such as family separation, child labour and child marriage. By equipping humanitarian actors with evidence‑based tools, the programme aims to increase family reunification, reduce child exploitation and strengthen overall child protection in affected communities.
