Hong Kong Youth Invited to Apply for Government Committees

The Hong Kong Government has launched the tenth phase of recruitment under the Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth. Applications are open until October 5 for advisory committees covering various policy areas, including District Youth Community Building Committees and District Youth Development and Civic Education Committees. To be eligible, applicants must be between 16 and 35 years old, depending on the committee. Candidates will submit a written statement, video, or audio clip explaining their suitability for the chosen committee. Assessment panels will evaluate their commitment to community service, understanding of policy areas, and analytical and communication skills. The scheme aims to engage more young people in public affairs and enhance mutual trust, with the goal of increasing the number of participating advisory committees to at least 180 within the current term.
