United and American Airlines have announced new international destinations, including the first U. S. nonstop flights to Slovenia and Luxembourg. These routes are made possible by the airlines' new Airbus A321XLRs, single-aisle aircraft capable of flying deep into Europe. Award availability for these new flights will be plentiful through the American Airlines AAdvantage and United MileagePlus programs, but redemption rates may be high during peak travel periods. Searching partner programs, such as British Airways Club for American Airlines flights and Air Canada Aeroplan for United flights, may offer lower redemption rates but worse availability.

The Avios transfer tool, available on the Avios website, enables users to link and transfer Avios between Aer Lingus AerClub, British Airways Club, Finnair Plus, Iberia Club, Loganair Loyalty, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and Vueling Club. To use the tool, users must create loyalty accounts with each program they wish to transfer Avios to, ensuring the accounts have been open for at least 30 days. The tool allows for transfers of up to 999,999 Avios per transaction and 1,000,000 Avios per rolling 12-month period. Users can also earn Avios by transferring points or miles from credit cards, such as American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Points, Capital One miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards points, Citi ThankYou Rewards points, Marriott Bonvoy points, and Wells Fargo Rewards points, at a 1:1 ratio, except for Marriott Bonvoy, which transfers at a 3:1 ratio with a 5,000 Avios bonus. This flexibility enables users to optimize their rewards for specific redemption opportunities, such as booking award flights with Iberia or Finnair.
