Amazon Expands Prime Air Drone Delivery to Nearly 500 U.S. Communities by Year’s End

Amazon announced that its Prime Air drone delivery service will soon cover almost 500 cities and towns across the United States, a six‑fold increase over its current footprint. The company will begin operations in the metro areas of Chicago, Syracuse, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Boise, adding Georgia, Ohio, Illinois, Idaho, and New York to the list of launch sites. These new locations join the 11 sites already offering drone deliveries, each serving roughly 175 square miles. Amazon plans to roll out additional communities later this year, aiming to provide faster, contact‑less package delivery to a broader customer base.
