WHO Maintains Health Services in Rohingya Refugee Camps Amid Monsoon Season

The World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners continued to provide essential health services to Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, in August 2026. Key public health priorities included responding to rising dengue transmission, sustaining measles outbreak control efforts, and strengthening population immunity through routine and supplementary immunization activities. WHO maintained its role as Health Sector lead, coordinating the health response and supporting partner alignment, strategic planning, and resource prioritization. The WHO-led Health Sector convened several coordination meetings, facilitating information sharing and operational planning to address emerging public health risks. Health Sector information products, including 4W, HeRAMS, and epidemiological updates, remain accessible online. Critical funding gaps continue to threaten Health Sector coordination and preparedness for outbreaks and health emergencies. WHO and its partners maintained continuity of essential health services during the monsoon season, ensuring the health and well-being of Rohingya refugees and host communities.
