British Airways Expands US Routes from London Heathrow

British Airways is set to increase its US routes from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) in the upcoming winter season. According to data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company, LHR will see a significant boost in services, while London Gatwick Airport (LGW) will experience a decline. In 2026, LHR will offer a record 27 routes to the US, with LGW accounting for a smaller proportion of flights. Cirium's data shows that LGW currently handles 5% of flights, but this will drop to 2% once a route shifts to LHR. This will be the smallest proportion of flights from LGW since the COVID-19 years, excluding those years. The increased services from LHR will provide passengers with more options for travel to the US. British Airways' expansion is expected to meet growing demand for transatlantic flights.
