What happened
The Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department (AFCD) will conduct special inspections and enforcement operations across the territory on August 30, September 5, and September 6. The aim is to ensure dog keepers properly control their pets in public places, raising awareness of public safety and reducing the risk of dog attacks.
AFCD officers will step up patrols at popular public places where dogs congregate, distributing educational materials to promote responsible pet ownership and explain statutory requirements.
Immediate enforcement action will be taken against anyone failing to comply with legal requirements.
