GM Unveils Minimalist UI for 2027 Silverado and Sierra Trucks

What happened
General Motors is set to release updated 2027 models of its flagship Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups with a brand‑new, minimalist user interface for the digital displays. The new design features a black background with local dimming that keeps the screen readable at night, and eliminates visual clutter.
Drivers can switch between several dedicated views: a simple half‑moon gauge for speed and RPM, a configurable zone for music, trip data or navigation, a driver‑assist screen that highlights Super Cruise status in green, an off‑road view showing angles and differential settings, and a towing display. The infotainment system continues to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users to cast their phones to the truck’s display.
The redesign follows constructive feedback from owners and aims to streamline information delivery while keeping essential controls within easy reach.
