What happened
California utility Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) has expanded its Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) program, adding electric vehicles from prominent manufacturers including Tesla, Volvo, and Nissan. The program now offers up to $17,000 in incentives for customers to convert their vehicles into home backup power systems.
Approved partners Bidirectional Energy and PowerFlex have been brought on board to facilitate the process. The enrollment deadline for the program has been set for June 30, 2027.
This expansion aims to promote the adoption of electric vehicles and enhance grid resilience in California.
