China's Reusable Rocket Capabilities Continue to Grow

China has made significant strides in reusable rocket technology, with a second launch operator successfully recovering an orbital-class rocket booster. This achievement follows a similar feat by another Chinese company just over a month ago. The development marks a notable advancement in China's launch capabilities, with multiple companies working on reusable rockets, both under state-owned entities and private industry. In comparison, it took the US over a decade for a second launch company, Blue Origin, to achieve a similar feat after SpaceX's initial success with the Falcon 9 rocket in 2015. Several US companies, including Rocket Lab and Relativity Space, are also working on reusable rockets, with potential first flights in the next couple of years.
