Waymo Launches Transit Rewards Program in San Francisco Bay Area

Waymo has announced a new transit rewards initiative that will begin in the San Francisco Bay Area and expand to other cities later. The program, described as first‑of‑its‑kind, offers riders Waymo Cash when they combine a Waymo ride with a public transit trip and pay with a Waymo Visa card. By linking autonomous vehicle service with mass transit, Waymo aims to encourage multimodal travel. The rewards system will be available to users who link their Waymo account to a public transit pass and use the Waymo Visa card for payment. Waymo plans to roll out the program in additional cities after the initial launch in the Bay Area, making it the company’s first incentive program that directly ties rides to public transit usage.
