Amazon Blocks Meta’s Muse AI from Shopping on Its Platform

Amazon has blocked Meta’s Muse AI agent from making purchases on its site, citing violations of its Conditions of Use. Starting Sunday, Muse users see a pop‑up warning that continued access by an unauthorized AI agent breaches Amazon’s terms. Meta did not inform Amazon that Muse would browse the store, and Amazon raised privacy and security concerns after Muse failed to identify itself and appeared to capture customer credentials. The company’s statement emphasizes that third‑party applications offering to buy on behalf of customers must comply with Amazon’s policies. As a result, Muse is barred from shopping on Amazon until it addresses the compliance issues or seeks explicit permission.
