NASA to Broadcast Progress 96 Launch and Docking to ISS

NASA will stream the launch of the unpiloted Progress 96 cargo spacecraft at 12:15 p. m. EDT on September 9 from Baikonur Cosmodrome. The Soyuz‑launched vehicle carries roughly three tons of food, fuel and supplies for the International Space Station crew. After a two‑day transit, Progress 96 will autonomously dock to the Poisk module’s space‑facing port at 2:37 p. m. on September 11. The spacecraft will remain attached for about five months before re‑entering the atmosphere and burning up over the Pacific. The previous Progress 94 will depart the station on September 7, but its undocking will not be streamed.
