NASA Launches Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on Falcon Heavy

On August 30, 2026, NASA launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. The 7:26 a. m. EDT launch set the telescope on a three‑month, million‑mile transit to its final orbit. Roman combines a wide field of view with high‑resolution infrared imaging to survey large areas of the sky and probe deep into the universe’s past.
